Driving directions from the South up the A1

Keep on A1/A1(M) until north end of Morpeth bypass . Leave A1 by turning left onto A697 to Wooler and Coldstream . Keep on A697 for approx 43miles until Cornhill-on-Tweed.

At Roundabout on A697 in Cornhill turn right onto A698 signed to Berwick-upon-Tweed. Follow A698 for approx. 5 miles, crossroads, turn left, signed Norham . About 1 ½ miles left again into Norham. Go through village towards Ladykirk and Scotland. Shortly after the School take left fork signed “Boathouse & Norham Dene” (this is really straight on as the main road takes a 90 degree bend right, which you don’t follow!).

Keep straight on down narrow cul-de-sac road. At end of this road turn left through iron gates hung on red brick pillars into the Columns. The Boathouse Cottage stands beside the gates.

Note : If you get to the bridge over the Tweed you have gone too far, come back 400yards and turn right into Boathouse Lane.
